The notion of outlawing contact with Iran is one of those ideas that at first glance sounds merely awful – and then upon reflection, seems truly dreadful.

Diplomacy is one of the many tools by which peace is kept. If you remove diplomacy, all that remains is ignorance or war. While I can understand and appreciate the sentiment of “you ignore me and I’ll ignore you”, elementary school taught me that such tactics just get you beat up.

And I hope that I don’t need to comment on the ridiculously futile notion of keeping the peace by waging a war…
