AAPL stock quickly recovered from its minor dip, as if the market decided that the loss of Steve Jobs the CEO is not the same thing as the loss of Steve Jobs the genius. More poetically, Jean-Louis Gassée makes the same observation for the Monday Note:
Seeing he could no longer “meet [his] duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO”, Jobs kicks himself upstairs and becomes Chairman, director, and “mere” Apple employee. In a distant future, I see him haunting the circular hallways of Apple’s Cupertino spaceship, the Commendatore hunting the clock punchers and damning the linear thinkers straight to Hell.
